Directions from Gauteng
Option 1: 4x4 and SUV vehicles – Approximately 280 km

Traveling from Gauteng take the N1 North towards Pietersburg/Polokwane. Approximately 110 km north of Pretoria you will have to take the complete left lane at the Kranskop Toll Plaza. Once through the toll plaza turn left at the T junction towards Nylstroom/Modimolle(R33). Drive straight through Nylstroom/Modimolle and continue to the town of Vaalwater. Cellphone reception is available most of the way. Drive straight through Vaalwater and take the Ellisras/Lephalale 88 Km turnoff to the right (R33). Drive north for 45 km. Once you have passed several signs for Biltong Go Back continue for approximately 3km where you will find the Beauty/Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge turnoff to the right. This is the last place where you will have cellphone reception for a while. Drive for 40km through scenic valleys on a dirt road. At the 2nd turnoff to the right indicating Overysel and also
Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge turn right. The last 10 km of dirt road brings you at our gates on the left side of the road indicating Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge.

Option 2: Luxury vehicles and Sedan vehicles and rainy season conditions – Approximately 310 km
If you rather want to head down to Ellisras/Lephalale and do most of the trip on tar roads (Black top surface) continue from the Beauty turnoff for a further 44 km to Ellisras/Lephalale (R33). Driving directly through town will stear you towards the Botswana border (R510). 2Km outside town the Marken/Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge sign will turn you to your right (R 518) from where you will head out for 25Km which brings you to the Vaalwater/Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge sign. Turn right and head for 7 Km where the Overysel/Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge sign will steer you to turn left. Follow this road for 10 km and you will find the entrance to Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge to your left.

Directions from Pietersburg/Polokwane
Option 1: Via Potgietersrus Mokopane - Approximately 200 km

Traveling from Pietersburg / Polokwane take the Marken/Groblersbrug road when entering Potgietersrus/Mokopane (N11). Turn again towards Marken 11km (R518) outside Potgietersrus/Mokopane and head for 110km to Marken. In Marken turn left towards Ellisras/Lephalale (R518) and head out for 15 km whereas you will find a Overyssel sign turning out to your left. This is the 2nd Overyssel turn-off sign to your left that you will find. Drive onwards until you get to a T junction, turn to your left and drive for 1 km where you will see the Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge/Overyssel sign indicating a right turn. Follow this road for 8 km and you will find the Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge entrance on your right.

Option 2: Via Steilloop - Approximately 160 km

Traveling from Pietersburg / Polokwane you need to turn into Nelson Mandela Drive from Thabo Mbeki Drive. Turn left into Rissik street away from Polokwane/Pietersburg. Drive all the way until you reach the R 567 crossing. Turn left onto the R 567 and follow the road onto the T junction with Groblersbrug/ Mokopane(Potgietersrus) road. Turn right onto the N11 and follow this road up to Steilloopbrug. At the 4 way stop in Steilloopbrug turn left to
Marken. Follow this road all the way until you reach a T Juntion just outside Marken. Turn right at the T junction and drive through the Village of Marken towards Ellisras/Lephalale (R518) and head out for 15 km whereas you will find a Overyssel sign turning out to your left. This is the 2nd Overyssel turn-off sign to your left that you will find. Drive onwards until you get to a T junction, turn to your left and drive for 1 km where you will see the Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge/Overyssel sign indicating a right turn. Follow this road for 8km and you will find the Bateleur Tented Safari Lodge entrance on your right.
